I want to get a desktop for my laptop because I want a bigger screen. Now I don't know what the best desktop would be that would go to my laptop in terms of performance.
My laptop: Intel Core i7 8th Gen, Intel UHD Graphics 630, 8GB RAM.
Which desktop should I get? Could my laptop handle 144Hz at high resolution in games like LOL, Witcher 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider etc?
If not, what would be the best alternative? And what is this WQHd all about?
Would be grateful for your help. LG
Unless he has a dedicated graphics card, not even FullHD runs on 60FPS, at least The Witcher 3. You surely mean a monitor, right?
You might be able to play at 720p and low at 144fps in LoL. I would take a Full HD 60hz monitor.
Unfortunately, the graphics on the laptop are far too weak. In Tom Raider you might get 20FPS, but definitely not 144 FPS. Does the laptop have a Thunderbolt 3 port? If so, an "eGPU" would be an option.
Hm, are you really sure that your laptop doesn't have a real Nvidia / AMD graphics chip? Because with the Intel HD iGPU, gaming in high / 60fps is rather nothing.
So you'd better check again
Ah yes, I'm about stupid. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

A FullHD 60Hz monitor should be enough. 144Hz are less in there, WQHD definitely not.
OK
Then you could buy a 144 Hz monitor. It depends on whether you use high or low settings. In high settings, a 75 Hz monitor.
At 75 Hz e.g. The BenQ GL2460BH
Thank you
Ok, well in some games you might get 144fps with it, but in most not or only at lower settings
But you can keep such a monitor and use it longer than the laptop, find a 60Hz monitor is no longer worth buying for gaming
