Hi, I received an iPhone 11 Pro Max and connected it to a USB-C port on the notebook via USB-C on a Lightning cable.
But I only achieve data rates of almost 30 MB / s, i.e. USB 2.0 speed.
My wife who owns a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 achieves almost 300 MB / s. So 10 times as fast. My old Samsung Galaxy S8 phone manages about 200 MB / s.
The question is, can the Lightning port support USB 3 in general?
The majority know it like this, take a USB 3 cable, connect it to the PC and enjoy the fast data rate in peace. If that doesn't work because it is not technically possible or why exactly?
Is it due to Lightning technology itself, because it is generally not capable, because of too few pins or so or so small that it is not possible to implement USB 3 chips directly at all?
Do you know what about it or a guess?
I paid a lot of money for the iPhone by renewing the contract.
Yes the Lightning port could support USB 3.0, because e.g. This was the case in the iPad Pro 1st and 2nd generation. In the iPhone 11 Pro Max (and in all other iPhones too), the Lightning Port only supports USB 2.0. Apparently, Apple believes that this is sufficient for normal users. Technically, it should be possible to implement USB 3.0 in the iPhones.
