Active or passive display port connection to notebook?

I change my "IT" at home a little bit and want to knock out my tower PC.
It currently looks like this:
PC connected via DVI & VGA cable to the existing monitors.
Due to the coming use of a notebook, I have to go through a port adapter.

The confi would then look like this:
Notebook via HDMI Out to adapter with a VGA and DVI connection and then on to the monitors:-)
do I need an active or passive adapter?
And what are the differences?
It would work for me and the necessary plugging would only make it easier to work with a cable harness (I still have a notebook from work - this is currently running - thanks to the docking station - also with 2 cables via the monitors.
The dockingsations are quite expensive ^^

If you use an HDMI → VGA / DVI adapter, you can either get the same picture on both or use only one of them at the same time
since docking stations are expensive, look for used

Hello - Thanks for your answer. Are there any other options apart from a docking station using an adapter?

You didn't mention which notebook you own.

If in doubt, if your notebook supports it, connect two cables

With display port and monitors that support it, you could use daisy chain

Sorry 😅 the new Lenovo E14

Has a HDMi and the possibility to connect the monitors via USB C. The USB C is responsible for the power - so only the HDMi remains
