Sell laptop without data?

I want to disconnect from my laptop. Wanted to reset it and then sell it. Read that you can still restore most of the data. I had a lot of sensitive data on it (PayPal, online banking, passwords, etc.)

Have now read something from DBAN, but that seems exaggerated to me. Can I simply reset the laptop and then overwrite the free memory several times with CCleaner?

If you are so unsure, just have the hard drive replaced

pr

Yes, it is best to overwrite the entire memory several times

An

Destroy your hard drive and install a new one

pi

Can still be restored (not always but often)

My

Install a new hard drive.

He doesn't have to destroy the plate, it will destroy itself.

Resetting is one of the most unsafe methods. It simply deletes where each file was saved and acts as if the other space was still free. You don't even need special tools to restore the data.

my tip would be to install a new hard drive, it doesn't have to be a huge one. The best thing is a so-called SSD (Solid State Disk)

with the reference to a new hard disk and the fact that it is a solid state disk, you will get the device even better sold. The decrepit battery lasts longer with such an SSD, the thing is less sensitive to bumps etc… And it does it faster too… So you can pack the 30 euro comfortably on the sale price…

I would simply pack the old plate into a cheap 2½ "installation housing, so if you need something from your old data, you can simply plug the plate in and pull the data down.
