When is this SSD from and how good is it measured by today s standards When is this SSD from and how good is it measured by today s standards - 1

Hello, I would like to install an SSD in my laptop, is it good enough for today's standards or should I buy a new one? If yes, where? My budget for a new one would be 50 francs.

Fr

Would have to install times and read out the read and write values

sw

Ok, I'll do it right after lunch

Fr

So from 300 read from 200 write would be ok. Had tested old ssds, they were lame like ne hdd

He

The speed is probably limited by the SATA standard anyway. In this respect, a new SSD in this design won't really be better, but 160GB would be too little for me personally

sw

How should I best measure the read and write values? With UBCD or there's a simpler variant

ca

This is a SATA II SSD, so it should be a model from 2012.

It only has 160GB capacity and is worth maybe 10 euro when used

I've been using it for years

endscore should be from 500. 1000 is good. 100 rum is cucumber.

ca

With an S-ATA SSD, you won't necessarily get 3 Gb / s, but neither will the model. I assume around 250MB / s, maximum.
With SATA III and current models, however, 500MB / s are easily achievable (best case)

sw

I only need enough space to install Windows, it should be fast enough to withstand VeraCrypt encryption. I also have an HDD for more storage

br

It's 10 years old, 160GB and worth around 5-10 euro.

It's enough for Windows only. And the speed is enough for Windows.

You can only read the status with a tool.

250GB - 500GB is normal today.

Would buy a NEW one for a work pc.

sw

I'm curious

sw

What kind of SSD would you recommend?

br

As written, 250-500GB in 2.5 ", and then what suits you best from the price.

sw

Did a 1gb test. The result was 412

sw

250 reads and 105 writes

Fr

Thanks for the feedback. Oh, I'd still use them. I never get over 60gb on my windows hard drive. You still have a hdd

sw

Does the Windows disk mainly need the read function? Since I won't save anything there.

Fr

To boot, yes. But I'm constantly reading and writing for operation, outsourcing and energy-saving mode, etc. If the boot was quick and the folders open quickly, then it fits

(So if you want to be absolutely sure you can take an intenso 120gb for 20euro. Then also test it, if it is good keep it)
