Hi, I wanted to know whether 8GB ram is a lot for a 17 year old Win 10, whether you SHOULD upgrade or whether a new laptop is more profitable.
What are you going to do with it?
8 GB of RAM is sufficient for normal use.
A slow CPU / GPU just doesn't get any faster with more RAM.
At 17 years old, I would definitely prefer a new purchase.
I doubt it is 17 years old and runs Windows 10 on it.
But 8GB Ram is enough for that.
You should have 16GB Ram by now, but the hardware shouldn't be so blatantly outdated.
Well, e.g. Use Optifine at mInecraft or use larger mods
Yes, it is, but has often been retrofitted
Should be enough, but I would take at least 16 GB (my computer even has 32 GB). But with such an old computer, I recommend buying a new one anyway if the installation of an SSD disk is not possible.
So only the case is 17 years old?
Would be possible, but think it is more expensive than buying a new one
8 GB is enough for everything ordinary.
In any case, not the mainboard, then we're talking about 8 GB DDR2 RAM or even older.
Then better buy a new one. Today's computers are affordable and future-proof. I would use the old computer in your place as a backup offline computer or something.
Yep
