I have on my (very) old laptop with 1500mhz dual processor times accidentally. Deleted my operating system, does anyone know an operating system that is free, and works with 1500mhz?

I would install a Linux distribution on it. For example, Lubuntu. This is an official Ubuntu-devirat, but with the difference that Lubuntu uses the resource-saving LXDE desktop. This works smoothly even on over 10 year old devices. Here is the download of the ISO:

32bit: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/...p-i386.iso If you have less than 4GB of RAM
64bit: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/...-amd64.iso If you have 4GB of RAM or more

Then burn the ISO to a blank DVD with this http://www.freeisoburner.com/ tool. Or if you can boot from USB, use this tool https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ to write the ISO on an empty USB stick. Now boot the burned DVD or the stick in the laptop. Just follow the instructions of the installer. It offers the possibility to completely delete the hard disk. I recommend a full installation. You should also choose third-party software. Upon completion of the installation and the first reboot, the update manager will contact you. These updates should be installed immediately.

Another option would be to install the Cloudready operating system there. This is a customized Chrome OS that turns any device into a Chromebook. Download here: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload/ You need the USB-Maker and a USB-Stick with at least 8GB. After creating the stick, just boot the stick. Follow the instructions of the installer. It offers the possibility to delete the hard disk. After completing the installation and the first reboot, just log in with the Google Account. In the settings you can install Flash, Codes and Widevine with just one click. After that, restart it and your Chromebook is ready. All updates are fully automatic in the background.
