Funny lag when playing?

On my laptop there have been strange lags on all games for a few days. When I play a game it is normal for a few seconds and then it is for a few seconds with such a strange sound that comes. It always repeats itself. And when I look at the task manager, everything is still fine. (My laptop is very old but still ok) How do I fix it?

Buy pc?

ca

What do you have in your laptop?

What RAM, graphics card, etc?

Pe

Ram 8GB probably ddr3, intel hd 5500 and an i5-5200U

ca

The graphics card isn't the best for gaming now, but it still depends on what you're playing.

What are you playing?

Pe

I sometimes play Minecraft, Call of Duty 1,2 and many other not so big games

ca

Well, that should be enough.

When you play, does your laptop get warm / loud? You say yourself that your laptop is already old.

Pe

It stays warm, I've been playing games like this for years, but they started a few days ago. I've already updated the drivers but nothing works

ca

You could also check the temperatures.

But other times ask: Is that such an FPS or Internet Laggs?

Pe

I think it's FPS lag

ca

Well, then I can assume that your laptop is getting a little too warm. As I said, download a program that can display your CPU temperatures, if it is over 60 degrees or 70 degrees, you should check whether your laptop has too much dust in the meantime.

But since you say that it started a few days ago, I could also guess that your system caught a virus, so check it out too.

If none of this helped, your system is unfortunately out of date, well, how long have you had your laptop?

Pe

Oh, I only noticed that when I watch normal YouTube the temperature is around 80 degrees and that you can hardly hear the fan. My laptop is about 4 years old

ca

Well, then the thing is done.

Your CPU is too warm, actually too hot, I mean 80 degrees while watching normal YouTube videos. I don't want to know what it looks like when playing.

Because it is so when a component gets too warm in your laptop (or in PC) that it can lead to large FPS drops in gaming, so like you.

I advise you to clean your laptop, if that didn't work, I recommend a PC, since you say that you can hardly hear your fan, it doesn't have much power to cool, and as I know you can CPU Do not replace cooler in laptop.

If you still prefer a laptop, just get a new one that is just more powerful.

Better find something on Ebay if you don't have a big budget now.

PS: As from my previous answer, you can also try to check your laptop for viruses, if not successful, then you know what I wrote.

ca

And another thing: Since you say that it will even be 80 degrees while only watching videos on YT, you have to be careful that it can't get over 100 degrees, otherwise your system could crash.

So as I said, follow the tips, if you don't succeed you know it.

ca

Thanks for the star.

Pe

With pleasure. I checked my laptop. The fan works, but it runs at minimal performance

ca

Then this is a new chance to lower your temperatures.

Raise the CPU cooler a bit, I think you can do that in the BIOS.

As always, however: If it still doesn't work, get a new laptop / PC, but I'm sure you can do it because you now know - the CPU cooler is running at minimum performance.

Greeting barish.
