I was working very relaxed on the laptop today when I had to leave for a short while so I got up and accidentally tore the cable with the armchair a little. Then my laptop shut down immediately. Every time I plug in the cable I can't start mine. Every time I plug in the cable when my laptop is running, it shuts down. Does anyone know what I can do now?

Does this also happen if you use a different USB cable or a USB device?
Is it only like this with one USB device? If so, the USB device could be damaged and the PC shuts down to be on the safe side.
If you tore the cable, there was probably an internal short circuit. The computer then switches itself off to protect itself. Discard the cable.
