I have a small smart projector from 2016 (https://www.amazon.de/Projektor-Smartphone-Quad-Core-Unterst%C2%A8%C2%B9tzen-Louderspeaker-bunt/dp/B01DDFK2OW) and I'm satisfied with the performance in and of itself… Unfortunately, the Android version is too old for Netflix, Youtube and other apps…
Now I would like to suggest a solution how I can still use the thing… Would rooting do anything? But I would prefer to install a kind of second OS (or completely delete the one that has already been installed) where I only have one ssh session or something, via which I can connect to my laptop and share the screen smoothly… Or the projector can be remotely controlled… If that can be combined with a standalone surface that supports YouTube and Netflix and Primevideo and all other streaming providers would be ideal… Unfortunately, I know my way around the Custom Roms region and nobody has found anything yet done like that with the thing… Maybe one of you had a suggestion?
I strongly assume that the projector has an HDMI connection, so you could e.g. Connect a Raspberry with Kodi, this supports all of this.
As far as your project is concerned, the best thing to do is to ask the XDA forum, they are very helpful there.
Unfortunately this projector only has a USB-A connection for mass storage / keyboard or mouse and a micro-USB connection for charging… I'll take a look at the XDA format…
