I bought an old Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L1300 on Ebay.

It had the following item description:

Notebook Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L1300 Intel Celeron 1.4GHz laptop 15.4 ". Condition: Used. Shipping with DHL package up to 5 kg.

Very, very good condition.

Functional, technical data see photos.

No hard disk and battery dead, but there.

Power supply included

From internet research, nothing appeared in advance about the hard drive connection. When I received the laptop, I noticed that it has an ancient ATA connector with 48 pins and no SATA to which modern hard drives can be connected. Neither from the pictures nor from the article description shows that it is not a SATA. The purchase was made with PayPal. Can I return the laptop?

Ha

Can I return the laptop?

No, not if that was your only reason for return and it otherwise corresponds to the item description.

Especially with old laptops, it can be expected that they also have old connections, so the seller can't be blamed.

Crass, I think I had a part 15 years ago.

On eBay you will definitely find plates that fit.

The UK doesn't have to post all the technical specs, just the defects and what the buyer gets.

Thanks for the links. Age was not a deciding factor in the purchase. I was just convinced that from 2000 only conventional SATA connections will be installed anyway. Next time I know better. It's just an old thing to play around with freeBSD anyway. I don't want to render 4K films. Bash scripts and jokes

Yes that's true. I had in mind that the old connections settled before 2000 and then only SATA. Now I know a lot more about it. There were just pictures from the BIOS. There wasn't too much information. The internet was pretty empty too.
