Partial Refund on eBay? - 1

I had already asked such a question, but it is now more annoying. I got a laptop with a description that was not quite right (500GB SSD), then there were still little things like 1 year antivirus and 3 months warranty that were missing. The seller also gave no papers to the laptop or anything else.

I had thought of a partial refund because it is an incorrect item description and wrote to the seller first, he does not respond. Can I start it alone or is it only a "normal" refund (all money) and return of the device?

Or should I threaten him with eBay that I open a case for return?

ai

In your place I would open a case, if the money is with you then send the laptop back.

St

Partial refunds are always something you have to negotiate.

If the laptop does not meet the description, you can send it back and get your money back.

If the seller doesn't respond, contact eBay directly. Threatening is always bad. If he does not respond, I would not wait long but open a case directly on eBay.

Qu

Can I get a quarter of the money back through eBay?

Qu

So I can't start with the partial refund directly but with the normal one?

St

In the case of a partial refund, you have to agree directly with the buyer. And if he doesn't respond, things get complicated.

ai

Was that a private seller, if so, is he actually not obliged to accept a laptop?

Ru

Why can't the seller make improvements?

Ru

What makes you think that?

Ru

PayPal does not provide for partial refunds. EBay does not refund anything anyway.

Qu

Either way, he is obliged to do so because this is about an incorrect item description, but I have another problem. I don't have much time for that and I don't know if I can send the laptop back so I hope that the partial refund will work somehow.

ai

Well, he is obliged, but if he doesn't, what do you want to do?

ai

Sometimes there's no withdrawal then he is not obliged

Ha

Or should I threaten him with eBay that I open a case for return?

How did you pay, by bank transfer or by PayPal?

It only makes sense with PayPal payment, opening a case, because with bank transfer you have no buyer protection and therefore eBay would immediately close the case in favor of the seller.
