I use a laptop that tells me to keep entering my password… Even when the screen saver comes on and I want to continue working. Is that normal?
How can I avoid that? It is annoying to enter the password pretty much every few minutes!

You do not need a screen saver for led / lcd screens. You can deactivate it easily.
It is quite normal for the computer to lock up if it is not used for a while. Entering a password to unlock it also always makes a lot of sense, it protects against misuse by others.
