Wi-Fi crazy?

My Wi-Fi has been spinning constantly for a week or two, i.e. Everything is fine near the router, only from the signal from the Wi-Fi amplifier it is often the case that it fails and you have to reconnect briefly, but constantly and it's just annoying. If you do a speed test everything is ok. I think it has something to do with the Wi-Fi amplifier. Is it broken or is it crazy or is it something else? Does anyone have any tips?
The problem is that I often have no reception in my room and, for example, can't really use my laptop. (Router is from vodafone and amplifier from FritzBox)

Wi-Fi amplifier

I doubt that you have such an illegal device in operation, but if you do, that's your problem.
Of course, it could also be that you mean a completely different device and only write extremely imprecisely (brake or accelerator? No matter!)

In general, it is advisable to be familiar with the https://www.elektronik-kompendium.de/sites/kom/0810301.htm if you want to operate radio equipment.

What? A Wi-Fi amplifier is not illegal

This problem can have several causes. In the worst case you have to exchange the amplifier, but depending on the provider you can have a malfunction check carried out. You can also check if you turn off certain devices such as LED lamps or other electronic devices, how it is.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thanks! It shouldn't be due to other devices

The Fritz WLAN repeater is definitely not set up properly.

Or it is incorrectly positioned, it does not belong in the room of the router, and also not in the room with weak WLAN reception, but has to be in the room in between.

Do a factory reset on the repeater and set up this repeater again.

Allocate various free Wi-Fi channels (if possible, 1, 6, 11 are usable at 2.4 GHz). And since you don't have a mesh, you are welcome to assign different SSID's, then you decide with the WLAN client (PC, tablet, smartphone…) which one you use.

Here AVM explains it with the Fritz Repeater 310:

Which Fritz Repeater is used (310, 1750e, 2400, 3000, …)?

Ka

Uff, thanks. It can't be because of the positioning, that's right. I didn't quite understand the rest of it, but show it to my brother later, he knows a little better

With the free Android app "Fritz App WLAN" you can see very well what you are doing with the WLAN repeater.

Because often too many repeaters are used. The more Wi-Fi networks there are in your area, the slower it will all use Wi-Fi repeaters and Wi-Fi routers. Less is often better.

It would be better to set up the wireless router more centrally, so that you can do without a repeater. A bad Wi-Fi receiver (with hardly any Wi-Fi antennas, nano Wi-Fi sticks) can also be the cause of poor, inadequate Wi-Fi reception.

I typed correctly, it is the Fritz Repeater 310.

With such problems (laptop changes the WLAN unmotivated), I would assign different SSIDs (= WLAN names). So give the Wi-Fi of the repeater a different name than the Wi-Fi of the router. Then you can use the laptop to connect specifically to the repeater and only if necessary (i.e. Manually) connect the laptop to the router Wi-Fi.

Ma

Here it is explained how you can change the SSID of a Fritz Repeater 310.

I recommend this in your case:

https://avm.de/...rs-andern/

Reason:

You definitely have 2 WLAN access points (router + repeater).

And if both have the same SSID (= WLAN name), the laptop constantly switches between the two access points because the laptop can't distinguish between the two. However, there are definitely 2 different Wi-Fi access points (it's not a mesh). To avoid this, you use different SSID's and from the laptop's point of view there are no more irritations.
