What music can you create with a MIDI keyboard on a laptop?
MIDI is another input "language" like audio or instruments.
It is used to play electronic and digital instruments. When you press a key on your MIDI keyboard, the thing typically transmits data to your computer via USB, which contains the note you play as well as the hardness of the stroke (values from 0-127). These values are then sent to your instrument, which then processes it into an audio signal.
There are now an infinite number of instruments that can be controlled via MIDI on the computer. In most cases you need a digital audio workstation and you are ready to go.
