Hard drive does not shut down on screen shutdown?

Unfortunately, I could not find any help, which is why I would like to describe the problem here.

I use the normal power plans on my laptop, mainly balanced and low power mode.

These plans are configured so that the laptop screen turns off after some time and eventually the account logs off, so you have to re-login when re-use. So far so good.

My problem is this:

If the screen shuts off at some point, the hard drive makes constant boat noises and then stops again.

It is similar to the feeling that a laptop makes just before it shuts down and the hard disk gets louder again.

The noise really annoys a lot because you always have the feeling that the laptop would start any moment or action with any action.

Can someone help me with the problem?

I use Windows 10 64 bit.

It only turns off the screen, the computer continues to run anyway. Make it so that he goes into power saving mode.

All I can say is that you can easily do that in Win 7.

Should then go under Win 10 also easy

Your laptop does not turn off but should switch to standby if I'm not mistaken. In standby mode, the laptop is still "active" which means that your hard drive is still running. So if you do not use your laptop, turn it off completely.

In the advanced energy saving options you can still set the hard drive.

That's normal I think the moment the screen goes out, Windows thinks it's quiet and starts its background activity. I can see no problem there now except that you still have a mechanical hard drive.

Oi

Normally, he should still be in standby mode still rest and not make repeated noises

Oi

I increased the time for switching off the hard drive

But the sound sounds extremely like he's trying to do something and fail and then try again and again.

I would like to have it so that it really gives rest when the screen goes out, as I know that actually from my desktop PC.

At some point, the screen turns off, the hard drive becomes quiet and eventually it goes into standby mode.

If you have ne old HDD or so that's normal.

Then she goes logically way down later.
