Screen brightness turns off after the PC restarts although I have set the brightness to 75%. I then always have to click the battery icon at the bottom right, because then I always see 25% and must then set itself 100%. Incidentally, the laptop is in power mode and fully charged. I have WIN8.
You may have a power plan that sets the display brightness to 25% by default.
Look in the control panel and change the setting or choose a different profile.
