IPad or laptop for studying?

I started my biology studies this semester and thought about getting a laptop for the lectures. However, a friend has brought me to me that I could get an iPad and because I do not have to program he said that would be enough.
I'm just staggering between laptop and iPad because I'm not sure if the iPad is really sufficient, although I have a computer at home where I could do chores and presentations, because that's probably not so good on the iPad

What would you choose or maybe someone would have experience for what is better?

I also study biology, have written the first few weeks with an ipad. Unfortunately, because my handwriting tendon was extremely inflamed and I had a plaster.

I would not recommend it personally. You are distracted, there may be technical difficulties and it is not the most comfortable.

I never had my laptop, because I do not like to write on Word. Some write directly on the slides of the professor on the laptop (with Adobe I think) but I find that questionable. How should one learn with this?

I have always printed all slides (2/4/8 per page) and then written by hand. This also makes working in the lab much easier. After all, you are in seminars or so sometimes not so appetizing things and do not want to contaminate your laptop with Staphylococcus aureus or blood

Well, I studied business informatics, but honestly… During the lecture, you did not program.

Programming was rather for the exercises and projects outside the lecture. On site there were also PCs that you could use.

Personally, I recommend something with which you can follow the script. Best in combination with notes.

For the Windows PC use e.g. PDF XChange Viewer. This makes it possible to leave marks and notes in the PDF.

We had the opportunity to receive many scripts as PDF. What did not allow them to print all.

If you have something on the iPad or a tablet not from Apple, it would of course be good.

Programs like PDF XChabge allow eg. Comment or direct notes to leave on the slides to not print everything.

Well, if you print 2 - 4 Powerpoint pages on an A4 you also save. The PC is max as well where it is protected and preferably not contaminated 😉 It is more of an aid if you would have to carry without 10 kg of paper as some of the annual script of all lectures always print completely.

Bad as well as it is allowed in a test to take the printed folder. The PC but not

Well, I find these programs for notes unnecessary.

How do you know what gets contaminated and what does not? Have you ever had a microbiological exercise? I do not think so. EVERYTHING was disinfected afterwards, also cell phones and laptops.

I did not have a single exam where I was allowed to use a folder. What are you studying there?
