And although I have gotten from my uncle his laptop 2 weeks ago, which also has a normal function but suddenly I turn it on, get to the desktop and there's "Windows is not responding" (something like that) and afterwards is there the PC is restarted. I can't access it anywhere even in safe mode… Is there a way to format the computer? (Windows 7) 32xbit system
(ONE HARDCOVER AND DEVICES ON CD HAVE NOT CLIPPED) + there was no backup of this problem unfortunately
Unless you need to backup important data, I would simply buy and reinstall Win 7. Has the device been cleaned before?
Thank you for your prompt reply! Can I do that on an external hard drive if I have the files on it?
Install from Windows 7? I would buy a CD on eBay, but win 7 with 64 bits! The easiest way.
But please check if the device is clean. Often the vents are closed! Just stand with the vacuum cleaner at the vents.
Attention: when stopping the fan could turn from device… Faster than he should. So please just keep it short.
Which laptop is this?
Look in the user manual to see if and how the laptop can be reset to the "factory settings". After that, he would be in the delivery state.
Since usually all your own files are deleted, you should save them before starting. - In your situation with the help of a Linux live CD / DVD, like "Knoppix".
The laptop still has Windows 7, so I would anyway look for a newer W version. (On Lizengo's the cheapest). Microsoft has discontinued official support for Windows 7 since 2015. Thanks to the extended support, the devices still receive updates. However, this ends after 4 to 5 years. (Jz is not a concrete solution, but rather a recommendation)
