Laptop does not start and always goes to the boot menu from which I can no longer exit?

My laptop has stopped starting since the last update.

I always get into a boot menu that I can't get out of.

When I go to Boot Manager, the screen goes black for a moment and this boot menu opens again.

Multiple restarts did not help either

Then the update shot up the boot manager or the disk accidentally suffered a defect after the update.

HDD or SSD? If the SMART values were noticeable before - but that is not a sure sign.

Boot from a USB stick / DVD and see if the hard drive is still recognized. Maybe you can restore the boot sector from a Windows installation stick. However, if the disk is broken, the only thing that helps is to replace it: remove the old disk, insert the new one, simply restore the operating system and data from the backup.

You have a backup, don't you?
