I want to expand the RAM on my laptop (i7 6820hk, gtx970m 6gb, 8gb ram) to 16 gb.
The mainboard supports up to 4 bars with 2133mhz sodimm ddr4. At the moment 1x 8GB bar is installed.
Should I now buy 1 relatively similar bar (the identical ones are no longer available) or just buy a few new ones? And in which configuration are the 4 Ram slots best used (with 2 bars)?
Does it matter if I buy 2 new individual bars or 1 pair of new ones?
Is it nice to know what kind of model it is… I found around 50 models from 6 manufacturers with exactly the hardware on a brief google search.
How does this help me now?
You can also use another bar with the same data. If that causes problems (which can happen in rare cases) you have to replace the RAM completely.
