My year old laptop seems to get more bandwidth than my fairly new PC?
Both network adapters support 1gbit / s, but the laptop gets twice as good results with multiple tests with the same cable!
How so?
Driver updates don't seem to change anything…
What did you test the download speed with?
Same connection on the router (you can prioritize the connections on most routers)?
Otherwise your laptop may just have a better ethernet card.
They should both support 1gbit, and I would rather have less bock jz to replace the pc card, because then I would also have to replace the motherboard…
They were tested with the same cable and the same LAN port.
Ookla Speedtest at edge, with exactly the same settings
If necessary, you could also buy a cheaper PCIe LAN card.

Somewhere the pc has a limitation. Exactly 500 seems very smooth to me. Vll times check settings?
Nene is not smooth, always varies, so about 450-602
Then do an iperf3-TCP test on the laptop.

Are the latest network drivers installed? Network drivers no limit?
