I just discovered that a large part of my files can no longer be opened on my laptop. These are Word, PDF and PP files. For example, the following message appears in the PDF: This file is damaged and can't be repaired.
What all these files have in common is that they are only 4 KB in size. Furthermore, all files apparently have the same modification date from half a year ago. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened and whether this can be repaired? It is also not all files, some have been "spared"…
Hard disk broken. Entry to the file still exists, but the file itself obviously does not.
