How can I use my studio microphone on the laptop?
I bought a studio microphone to make high quality recordings. I can't get the Microphone up and running.

I have 2 laptops. One with operating system MS-Windows 10, one with 2 Linux systems (Mint and Ubuntu). If I insert the Microphone into the laptop, no matter which system, the Microphone is recognized. Unfortunately, when I try to start recording with AudoaCity, no sound comes to the program.
Note
The recording works via the integrated microphone in the laptop. Only not in the desired quality!
Hiring notes that I found on YouTube and Google have unfortunately not been successful.

I would say you did not set the Microphone as an input on Audacity, or your Microphone is scrap or it can't draw enough power.
Please do not use Audacity for music productions. Only for sound recordings, it is limited suitable.
First, please replace this abart of kabel with a two-sided xlr cable and get a small audio interface with xlr input (there are quite cheap for about 60 euro from beringer)
Audacity is not that good at times… But I still prefer Ableton Live 10
