Portable tools into the network: NAS or Dropbox?

I want to access the same portable tools from my laptop and desktop.

Do I better put them on the NAS or in the existing Dropbox folder?

It depends. From a security point of view, the Dropbox is probably smarter because you don't have to open a port in the router for mobile use. On the other hand, having your own nose is cooler ^^. Well and you have your data redundant on 3 systems.
