We have had problems with our WLAN for some time and we have had technicians there three times to fix these problems. After that, the WLAN usually worked very well for a short time, but other problems soon followed. This is the reason why I'm addressing this forum with the following question - pure despair and no trust in the technicians of my Internet provider (Telekom).
My problem is that I'm connected to the WLAN with all of my three devices (tablet, laptop, smartphone), but does not load a single website (I have already tried a variety of different ones).
-> a problem with the website would be excluded
This is not the case with the devices of my roommates, they are connected to the same WLAN, but the pages load for you, even though they are the same type of devices and sometimes even the same model with the latest software updates.
-> so I have also ruled out that it is due to my devices themselves
I restarted the router and all of my devices
-> without success, the problem still occurs
In addition, I reset the Wi-Fi profiles of my devices and tried again to connect to the Wi-Fi
-> again the devices were connected to the WLAN, I was also shown the best reception, but I still couldn't open a page.
I have to say that I'm really desperate and I don't know what else I could do or where the problem might be.
As I see above, I no longer want to contact the provider, since the previous visits have already cost a lot of money, but have not brought a really long-term solution (> 2 weeks) (it is not possible to change the provider).
I would be delighted to find solutions / help!
You had to test a lot, it works best on the PC…
What are the network settings like?
Do you have children? Maybe something doesn't suit them? (Handling, control)
DHCP on the router? What settings.
What software on your devices…
This is so directly by question, of course difficult to solve, the best would be someone who knows his way around and / or can be instructed, in your household, on your Wi-Fi…
Why is it not possible to change providers?
Because it's difficult in my area and nobody offers it…
Well, what should your ISP help you there, if it is obviously a hardware problem of your devices.
Tap DNS problem, or parental controls turned on.
So telezombies and routers / WLAN is such a thing, very few really know their way around
Even your advertised mesh system, including on-site installation, is not cleverly managed by the valued technicians
And for me there's apparently nothing in the simple framework, so I would advise you to really try a specialist dealer who takes a close look at the on-site location
You can, for example, place an advertisement on check24, there are also capable companies and very important: agree that full fee is only paid in the event of success, otherwise only a flat rate of 20-30 euro
if you are located in Saarland, you can also contact me privately
Many thanks for your response!
What do you mean by "what are the network settings?" What do I have to watch out for?
There are no children and therefore there are no WLAN blocks / restrictions etc.
What is DHCP?
It will not be the software, because it works for another, exactly the same device (same model, design, latest software) in the household.
And unfortunately I'm the one who knows my household best about it (not a very high standard).
As described, another device of the same type does not have this problem. There's also no childproof lock.
We also had technicians from other companies there, so it was the same problem.
I understand your despair The fact that the Wi-Fi works, but the Internet does not, is because the two have nothing to do with each other. Wi-Fi is internal, and is provided by the router. Internet is external and is made available to the router.
This is the case with my router: as soon as there's a fault (power failure that lasts longer than my UPS can supply, or a fault from the provider), the router goes offline. So I have to go to the router page on the PC every time and click on "Connect", and that's it again. I also selected "Connect automatically" in the settings and saved the connection data, but I still have to do this manually after every malfunction. Very annoying for my wife when I'm not there because she can't do it.
Not understandable, since it is a modern gigabit router.
So go to the settings in the router and connect it manually to the Internet.
First of all, thank you for your answer and effort!
The thing is that the internet works, just not on my devices. The router is online.
Alone, because only you have problems with your 3 devices and the others in the shared apartment do not… Sounds more than strange
Switch off all software that goes in the direction of child safety or other interventions
Router, provided that there are not too many settings in it, reset and also delete all Wi-Fi settings and SSIDs on your devices and log in again
Do not pay attention to the indicator lights, but check in the settings whether he is online. This is only possible with a PC.
Yes notice what? What do you want to show the telecom technicians there? They take care of problems with the line and not problems with your devices.
If it's your roommate but not yours, it's definitely NOT the internet line. As a result, the telecom is out, and your "go bad" is completely inappropriate.
Reset the router… So to factory settings. Restarting is not enough. Or get another router.
He / she writes that it works on the devices of the roommates…
so the router is innocent…
but not the settings on the PC… THE would interest me… Not the Telekom, which, as you say, is only interested in their line
Of course it gets difficult
what does the "status of the Internet connection" say?
Right click on the network icon in the task bar
Open network and internet settings
scroll down
"Left-click the network and sharing center
then click on the connection under Access Type
then like on details
and send a screenshot of it, or post the content somewhere and link here)
all IP addresses that are displayed are not critical, you are welcome to post them,
this does not apply to the IPV6 address, please black out
I would primarily deal with the problem on the devices… There can be a lot of trouble… Especially if you don't have a 2t router there…
Which router and W-lan stick do you already have Windows 10 connection test, line test router test for remote access if you are at Telekom
only use the cables from Telekom that are in the router packet
