I only have the problem since I closed the laptop with HDMI on an external screen.
Now I want the sound to go through the headset when I plug it into the laptop. But since the connection to the monitor no sound comes out of the laptop. How can I fix it?

Maybe plug the audio cable into the monitor, my monitor has a connection, I think that's on every monitor or screen in general.

Since you are using windows 10, you can simply press the loudspeaker icon in your task bar and choose between different outputs. There you have to select your laptop or headset. Afterwards, noises should come over the respective output
Does your headset cable have a green and a pink cable individually?
You can connect the headset to the PC. Then go to the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar and right-click on it. Select "Open Sound Settings" and select your headset as the audio output.
Sometimes the symbol is hidden in the "drop-down menu" under the up arrow. Just click on it if there's none in the task bar.
If so then try to put one in the laptop and the other in the monitor, one is for talking and the other for listening, you have to try it out.
