Why is not my laptop out of standby mode?

My laptop is in standby mode since this morning. When I wanted to take him out of this mode now, he has not addressed (lamp for standby mode flashes, screen is black and nothing happens in the computer). Switching off does not work accordingly. Maybe someone has a suggestion why this could be and how I could solve it? I absolutely need the PC for the school and therefore should work again as soon as possible.
