How can I save pictures?

I sent pictures to whatsapp myself so that I can save them on my laptop and use them as a background. I have done everything but where are my stored images now and how can I save them as a background or at the files? (There in the folder "stored images" these images are not)

Do you have the pictures in your mobile gallery?

If you've sent yourself the pictures, then you have to have them in your gallery.
