I have a docking station that I can use to connect my laptop to other devices. Currently with an old screen using a VGA slot and cable. This docking station also has an HDMI slot, so I could connect a second screen. But I only bought a second, old VGA screen and therefore bought an adapter from VGA to HDMI - the screen remains black when I plug it into the HDMI slot of the docking station with the adapter. Someone have an idea why? (And yes, there's electricity).
Maybe handshake problem? You can google it
If there's no image signal in your USB-C port. In the end there's no picture out there either.
The VGA to HDMI adapter requires electricity to convert. But the switch is already snapping electricity. There's nothing left for the conversion. Does the adapter have a USB port for a power supply? Then you can take care of him. If not, try a manual toggle. I only know one from Hama. It doesn't need a power supply.
