I got an m.2 NVME SSD and a case with a USB 3.0 connection, because I want to transfer the data from one to the other and my laptop only has one SSD slot. What kind of freeware program should I use in your opinion?
Incidentally, the reason for the exchange is a lack of saliva, if someone is interested.
Well, since I also do a complete month every month due to my "self-made experience". IMAGE of partition C. Create, I invested almost € 35 and acquired ACRONIS True Image 2021.
So I always image and clone.
For me, the following has proven very useful:
Boot the system with a "rescue DVD", save your data on an ext USB device and do a complete. Reinstallation from WINDOWS.
Then partition the hard disk or SSD in C: and D: and install WINDOWS 10 yourself only on C: \.
Save data and your own files on drive D: in the future.
With the next WINDOWS problem you only have to set up C: again, D: is then retained. If everything goes so far, programs installed and WINDOWS configured as required, create a complete IMAGE from C: \ and save it to D: \ IMAGE. I purchased "Acronis True Image" for this and have been using it successfully for several years.
In addition, I copy this image onto an external hard drive, which is then stored in the closet to be on the safe side.
So you can quickly and easily set up a complete C: \ with all inst. Programs and settings.
Every 2-3 months I create a current image of drive C: so that one is always relatively current.
Has proven itself extremely well for me and is used by all acquaintances whom I have installed WINDOWS in one way or in some cases even more deficiently.
In the event of a problem, the image is directly restored and the PC runs as YOU have configured it personally at this point in time
But you can genrne look for suitable freeware here: https://www.heise.de/...%2Fimaging
