I have to get a laptop for next school year. Kali wants to create Linux and Windoof in Dualboot, preferably 2 hard drives for it. I also like these retro Thinkpads, which also survive a litter or orange juice. Should also have some power, because I have no access to a desktop PC on the go.
Do you get something like that, or is it rather discouraged?
Sure, that's it. Here, for example: https://www.notebookswieneu.de/notebook-ultrabook/notebook/
Yes, you still get them - both new and used. And yes, it's worth it
Thanks for the answer
Can you also say something about the battery life?
Always depends on the device, the size and condition of the battery (s)
The Retro Thinkpads you are looking for belong to the so-called L series. They are still sold but are not as retro as they used to be. Are synonymous Thinkpads another series, which now obstruct the new Ryzen CPUs, which should be very good. Since I would rather not look so much to the appearance, but rather to the function.
Whether you find a notebook with 2 hard drives? Probably not, although I still have one. However, ThinkPads are not so much intended as desktop PC replacements, so it does not make much sense to use two hard drives of the same design, rather than a large SSD.
And what's a lot of performance, you have to find out yourself what you need. More power usually means that the notebook gets chunkier or less bulky, but very expensive.
