Your hard drive is most likely broken if it is a normal HDD. This is the worst stress for such a hard drive that the engine needs to bring the plates to the target speed. Either the engine or the bearing will fail. Assuming you turn it off and then when it's all over, turn it on again. Only when restarting the hard disk is not turned off but continues to rotate normally. Then nothing will happen.
I agree DasQuitsch, as the first takes probably damage the hard drive. Next, then probably the fan (if the constantly go on and off).
But you really have to do that often (non-stop) and you can't do it on a single day.
