Work on the PC, harmful because of epilepsy?

I've read a few books on the subject but have not found anything specific.

I have been an epileptic for years. I have had two right seizures so far. The first and one that was triggered on sleep deprivation EEG, after I was advised to stop taking my medication.

I have idiopathic primary generalized epilepsy and take Levetiracetam (Keppra).

Since I already relapsed after successful treatment and I also z. B. While physical education could just prevent seizures, I have to consider.

Yes, first of all: Yes, I notice in advance if a seizure is approaching me. I can't explain it, but I also felt the first one before. Of course, I thought it was fatigue or a collapse (about 3-4 minutes before the seizure).

So I could in the physical education z. B. Quickly spray diazepam into the nose and prevent it.

I'm also not prone to high-frequency light, or was it before. At my graduation party, despite the ban, the flickering light was turned on. Shortly thereafter I spontaneously became tired, weak and had a mild headache. That gave me something to think about, what my doctor once said. He said certain screens (especially the old ones) running between 40 and 60 Hz could provoke epilepsy.

I had a PC with a 60 Hz screen before, I now have a monitor with 144 Hz. I do not want to say that the laptop somehow worsens my health status, but it may.

Now comes the essence of the question. I'll start a job in a public agency soon and have to work a lot with computers there. Can this affect epilepsy?

You can write anything you suspect.

But please write if you have been an epileptic since, a relative, or if you have Only have a guess.

It's like all other triggers in epilepsy. It can be a trigger, but it does not have to. Just because you have epilepsy, you still do not respond to every trigger, there are so many.

And especially in epilepsy people are recommended an office job, as often a PC plays a role.

Just fix it yourself, take care of yourself and talk to the doctor (who hopefully knows his area of expertise).

Happy new job.👍

Do you know the forum "Epilepsy together instead of lonely", because you will get the best information from those affected. Or in the "Epilepsy Forum" too.

For every epilepsy a magnesium deficiency should be excluded, writes the German Society for Magnesium Research. I also have epilepsy and have been taking 400 mg of magnesium per day and Ratyopharm's vitamin B complex since I read this. Unfortunately, the important B vitamins are removed by antiepileptic drugs and they should definitely be reintroduced. Important also for the messenger substances in the brain. Also protects against fatigue and discomfort, because most people have a strong deficiency of these B vitamins.

It always depends on the severity of the course of epilepsy.

In fact, the higher the frequency of the monitor, the less critical the matter becomes.

How high the personal optical sensitivity is, we can't estimate.

This can only be found out by trial and error.

It may be through that there are no problems with it.
