I let someone play Minecraft on my laptop today. After I left Minecraft there, a black screen awaited me. I turned off the laptop. After I switched it on, white on black system is updated 3%. I switched it off immediately. Do you think it's a virus? Or is it normal?

Microsoft has been making new updates since yesterday.

You probably missed that.

So I would ask the person if they pressed on what or where but don't think it's a virus

It was without the Windows logo and with the percentage display

Why is everyone always so afraid of a virus?

Windows and other programs data collection is much worse.

If there's something like petya e.g. Is

So if you only played Minecraft, it's funny, but it's probably not a virus.

If he played in multiplayer or loaded a resource pack, it can theoretically be a virus. However, I have never heard of a virus that already reports when it starts up. Most viruses either don't show up or they try to blackmail you. So it's best to let the PC boot up and then run the virus scanner for safety's sake.

Hopefully you have backups.

No backups because the backup hard drive broke 3 weeks ago. But I also didn't look all the time to see if he really did anything else. He definitely played multiplayer. So n virus that shows up right at the beginning is e.g. Petya masquerading as Chkdsk.

Then there would be something different than a Windows update.

And even if you get something like this on your computer, your OS can play again and well.
