Buy a used MSI laptop?

Is it worth buying this laptop.

I need it for my thesis and also gamble on the side.

Games as well as Dota, Apex, LOL, Cs Go.

That's more than enough for that. However, I'm not sure if I would pay 600 euro for it. I'd rather say 500 euro or something

ma

Thank you very much

No, the purchase is definitely not worth it, because the seller's cheek to sell the thing as high-end in times where 8GB Vram is almost the minimum hits the bottom of the barrel.

Take the 600 euro and buy a PC for it or a new notebook, especially because you have no guarantee on used goods and especially when buying on ebay you have to assume that your goods will give up within a very short time

I have a similar one myself, just a few generations older. They are not bad, only the battery is probably in the can. So you will need a new one or always have to work on the network. If you can, you should take a look at the device beforehand. The thing is only 2 years old, it is "gladly used", which of course can mean that the seller was not necessarily gentle with it.

ma

Thank you ☺️

Devices in the corner cost ~ 1800-2000 euro new. So the price isn't that bad. And if you don't have to turn everything to full in the graphics settings and still want the longest (benchmark bar) then even 4GB VRAM is enough for some time (I managed with only 2 for 7 years).

Thank you very much

No, it's not worth it.

It has a better CPU and a better GPU, more SSD hard drive storage and a 2-year guarantee.

Surcharge: 60 euro compared to the Ebay offer.

AMD has officially advised against buying devices with 4GB vram because the vram demand will increase massively in the next few years.

I'm not saying that 8GB Vram will soon be the minimum for no reason

Ar

With pleasure. You should only see if you (as mentioned by ThexXTURBOXx) can maybe negotiate the price a few more euro. Possibly. Find out (maybe there's still the original invoice) what the new cost was.

ma

I will.

This is the same sabble (sry) as in all forums where everyone yells "more VRAM!" The only thing that can suck it up a lot are higher-resolution textures (keyword 4k). But with a normal FHD display, that's totally uninteresting. Any games with massive graphic mods or the current FS suck VRAM for breakfast. But they also know their limits.

My fairly new laptop has 8GB, but I designed it for a service life of 6-7 years. What will probably find its way through the next few years will probably be the whole raytraycing thing. There are so many small cards still haunted around the country with all the multimedia boxes…

ma

Thanks for the advice. What do you think the two are as good as yours or not?

Neither of them have a decentralized graphics card, so they are a bit weaker.

The games you mentioned above are not request games for CPU and GPU either, so they should work (almost) no matter what kind of laptop you buy.

Thank you very much 👍🏼
