I called o2 and they said laptops can't receive 5 GHz except apple products. I assume mine can receive it she said no.
can I receive it?
802.11ac can support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. This has been around for 10 years and is not limited to Apple devices. Your CLI screenshot does not show the "ac".
Why is it so relevant to you?
Try going into your router's settings to see which network you're connected to.
For me only 2.4gH is displayed even though my Wi-Fi has both, I can connect on my cell phone, but this is not displayed on my laptop and my mother's cell phone.
If necessary, you can give your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks other names.
If you then try to dial into the 5 GHz network you will get your answer.
On my iPhone I see the 5GHz Wi-Fi, but not on the other devices. Different names have the "WLANS"
So should my laptop be able to receive it?
Then your laptop doesn't seem to be capable of 5 GHz.
But just use a lank cable if you need faster speeds.
"ac" NOT. No. Had to get a Wi-Fi usb stick that can ac.
