I'm looking for a laptop for my mother, but so far I haven't really found it. I'm also not very familiar with laptops, and I would be interested in whether someone might have recommendations. I would recommend a Chromebook if the intended use is the Internet, e-mail and YouTube.
The devices have no viruses, and backup is not necessary as all data is in the cloud. And if the device breaks, you buy a new device and all data is available again.
