In order not to have to remember multiple passwords, I have the same password on Instagram, Gmail and my laptop, for example. Is that too unsafe?

So: Always use a different password in each account.

Why should you do it that way when there are now enough technical measures to get it right? There are various free (and paid) password managers that relieve you of the task of having a different password everywhere and of remembering it.

I wouldn't do it like that, because if it comes to a digital disaster and orders are placed with other addresses with your own account on Amazon / eBay, you look really stupid at first.

It also depends on how many devices you use it on. For example, if you access a certain account from different devices, it might be better if you can remember it.

If it's your own devices, you can also use 1password.
