Speech input is theoretically possible for most of them, but hardly anyone really uses it except perhaps when dictating books or letters!
What's next as an intermediate piece from the keyboard to Elon
Musk's Neura Link, also because of the emerging A.I. "Revolution!
Here can and should be "spun" no matter if technically still "totally impossible" at the moment!
not completely "new"?!
Keyboard alternatives are hardly practical. The physical feedback is extremely important, as is ergonomics, which is why many of these projecting solutions are definitely not available - they are more gimmicks than anything else.
The question of how much the majority of people really want to plant themselves with chips is also such a question. Possibly attachable devices could achieve a breakthrough, as long as they are not too bulky.
Elon Musk's chip is more useful for other things. Since the special thing about an input method is that you can touch it, etc. I see Musk's chip more in prostheses, etc., but what about a keyboard alternative? No. There are already many alternatives, but not really useful for long-term use. More like a kind of gadget that makes certain things easier.
That would be something like that, for example. As you can see it is useful for 3D design etc, but not really suitable as an everyday keyboard.
but with Elon you never know.
So not like at METRIX? 😉
As I said, I don't think that non-Habitic devices stand a chance. Complete mind control maybe, but not by a chip, but by a kind of glasses or something similar
Years ago there were input devices from Sony for game consoles that "scanned" the location of the person, but they didn't prevail either, never heard of it again!
Was once at BMW in the development center! Prototypes were virtually "walkable" thanks to glasses more than 12 years ago! I have no idea how they do it today!
Other answer - USB socket on the temporal bone and direct thought input.
See the ShadowRun novel series
Look at the age of the video. It's pretty old too. And yes it was in the field of game consoles, but not really in the field of 3d designs etc up to now
