Sims 3 CAW Tool does not start, what to do?

My Sims 3 caw tool keeps crashing after starting. There's no error message, nothing. The home screen keeps coming and then it's gone and I can repeat that all the time. I switched my laptop off and on again and nothing helps. I do not dare to uninstall the tool and reinstall it, I do not know if the world I'm working on is still stored somewhere and is not gone when I uninstall it
