Alternative fire tv stick?

I have in my bedroom an old tv model and use this eig only for netflix, currently I connect my laptop with the tv, with a fire tv stick that would not be necessary anymore. Is there any other alternative than wirelessly transferring from another device? Thanks for your suggestions! Quasi I would like to conjure a smart tv from the old model. But the fire stick is too expensive for me.

The Fire Stick is the cheapest way to bring Netflix and Co to your PC. He can also make a jailbreak to a Kodi media player.

Ingenious is the Fire Stick by the remote control, which does not work by infrared, but via radio or possibly also the WLAN. It does not require any alignment with the device.

If you want to make the TV SMART TV, so are the other solutions similarly expensive. A Rapsberry Pi costs a similar amount, with a matching power supply and a remote control significantly more.

Alternatively, there's the Chromecast, also costs about 40 euro.

A new Smart TV would cost at least 400 euro.

Maybe you can find something cheaper on eBay, but there's a high risk in terms of warranty, etc.
