Should last a few years and pack things like office and homeschooling.
What's the budget?
MacBook
Either Windows or Apple that still works fine after that
Up to 400
And what does that have to do with my answer?
Haha good joke 😂
Why good joke?
With used, you run better. Otherwise a Dell Inspiron 15 3000? It costs 360 euro and is ok
Wait, that wasn't serious about the MacBook, was it?
I can recommend this device because for 500 euro it really has a lot of power:

How long such a device will last largely depends on the user.
Yes, that was and is meant seriously.
Ouch… That hurts…
But what's so funny about that?
It should only be enough for Office. You only need MacBooks if you have to show off or have too much money. You don't need any of it. In addition, Windows is much better for teachers, especially when it comes to home office…
If you don't know your way around and can do without gimmicks, a MacBook is probably the best choice. However, there won't be a new one for 400 euro…
If you really want / have to save money (do you have to do that as a teacher?), I would recommend a used business device. They are retired after 3 years and still have decent equipment, are in good condition and at a reasonable price.
Well, I'm not a teacher. But I would never buy a non-Apple laptop.
Some people just have little experience… Well, you never stop learning 😉
Well, little experience, I wouldn't say, or can iCloud be used with a Windows laptop like on a MacBook? The main reason is the ICloud, I take a picture with the iPhone and have it directly on my MacBook. There I can edit it and have the edited version directly on my iPhone.
Well, if you already have an iPhone, you are almost forced to buy an Apple PC / notebook. Since the notebook is only intended for work and nothing was mentioned about iPhones, you can go to Windows here with confidence and don't have to buy a MacBook. In addition, you don't get a MacBook for 400 euro.
The one with the low budget was only written after my answer.
Personally, I never buy a MacBook, even with a budget of 2000 euro. But I'm also lucky enough not to have an iPhone.
I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad W530 at the beginning of the pandemic. (I'm a computer scientist). Used of course, the new price is over 2000, - €, I paid almost 400, -. If not already installed, enrich with a suitable SSD and main memory (it can handle 32 GB)
The notebook was sold as a "workstation" and has a lot of power. I will certainly work with it for another 5 years. First-class display, good camera and above all: very good keyboard!
I called it "Dreadnought" and the name says it all.
