I exchanged a laptop under the warranty as there are problems with the battery. The company has sent a replacement that works properly and does not cause any problems. Now, however, the defective laptop, which I originally complained about because of the battery, fell down and broke when I packed it. Can I still send the laptop back?
What do you think?
Pooh
if you have evidence that the device did NOT break when dropped on the floor, then you should have a relatively good chance.
If not, then you've probably been unlucky
No. This is not an insurance or guarantee case. You were unlucky.
Many in your position come up with the idea of claiming that you gave the laptop to a friend who dropped the laptop. (How good that the friend has liability insurance).
But that would be insurance fraud and not a trivial offense.
The best you can do is try to resolve this with the company that sells the laptop.
Falling down is a so-called "violence damage" and is neither covered by the guarantee nor the warranty. It's a classic bad luck…
