I want to buy a new laptop. I mainly need the laptop for research, writing with Word and some image editing with Photoshop. What should I look out for when buying? Do I get something for use for 500 euro or do I have to calculate more?

When buying, pay attention to:
SSD as hard drive (not HDD!) → Fast start
8-16GB memory
"dedicated graphics card"
and especially that the notebook is not very old.
So for 500 euro you can get very good office PCs with which you can even play some games. For notebooks, for example, I would suggest the Lenovo IdeaPad 3. It's pretty good for its price and should be enough.
Take a convertible laptop
Take a look at the Xiaomi laptops, they are cheap, powerful and keep 60FPS when playing games.
