I recently looked at the system requirements of a few games that I plan to / will buy soon and am a bit confused.
I'm mainly concerned with the CPU / processor: The two largest developers and manufacturers of computer processors are Intel and AMD. Almost every PC or laptop has a processor from the product range of these two manufacturers.
The system requirements of the games that I want to buy naturally also state which processor is required and which is recommended. Most of the time, you are told both the Intel and AMD models.
Sometimes, however (and this is the case with a few of the games) only the Intel processor is displayed, which is at least required or recommended. There's no information about the required AMD processor.
My question now: Do these games not work if you want to use them on a PC / laptop with a processor from AMD (which would be pretty stupid)? Or was it in these cases simply laziness on the part of the website operator (and the editors who wrote down the system requirements) that they were too shame to list the corresponding model from AMD?
Yes, it is from laziness.
Laziness / they haven't looked with which AMD processor it works. They even run with a good NoName processor from China. Which games are they? I know a lot about hardware and can show you an AMD processor equivalent to the Intel processor.
As long as you are using a current version of Windows 10 with the right drivers, this shouldn't be a problem. You are right, here and there there are of course performance differences between Intel and AMD CPUs, but this is also simply due to the different architecture. I guess you have an AMD CPU. You can visit this page https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/...-/4031vs10 and compare the requested Intel processor with yours. The differences in performance are of course only a thumbs-up, but give a very good assessment of the performance. Alternatively, you can also take a look at YouTube, there are various benchmarks and comparisons there.
Yes, it also runs on a similarly powerful processor from the other manufacturer.
Only some games have a cooperation with a hardware manufacturer, i.e. If the AMD logo is shown in the intro of a game, then it will be slightly better optimized for AMD.
It is the same with the specs, the partner is written in.
But sometimes they do it out of laziness.
Yes, they will also work if your AMD processor simply has comparable performance.
This actually only applies to old games, where AMD with its Bulldozer FX processors was not good for gaming anyway.
Thanks for the answer.
If you could just tell me about Intel's "counterpart" to my AMD processor, that would be enough. That would be the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H (with 6 cores).
With pleasure! Same price or same service?
Achievement, but you can also write both if you find it
Intel Core i5 10400F, $ 143
Ryzen 5 3600, $ 189
Ryzen 7 2700
