Moin people and that's what I mean. Upgrade your laptop with a new graphics card and more RAM.

My laptop:

Acer Extensa

Intel HD 520

4gb ram

I3 6006u

My plan is to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM and install a better graphics card - any suggestions?

Would it be eig to install a nvidia graphics card?

Will that work at all because I think the graphics card is soldered.

My plan is to play more and better games.

There's no graphics card… The graphics unit is integrated in the processor.

Rather unlikely. The only thing that can be upgraded on the laptop is the memory. Look on the side of the manufacturer, what can be upgraded to maximum working memory. For games, the laptop is rather unsuitable.
The graphics chip is already included in the CPU:

Thank you! Uhmm I could not find anything about how much RAM I can block. Can you take a look?

There are different versions of Acer Extensa. Therefore, a more accurate name would be helpful. If it's a normal office laptop, it probably will not be like 8GB in it.

For now, the Intel HD 520 is not a graphics card, but the graphics unit built into the processor. Probably you will not be able to install a graphics card, because simply the slot is missing. But you would have to see the congrete model.

More ram should go. This also boosts graphics performance when switching from single to dual-channel operation. The transition from SingleRank to DualRank also brings some performance.

The highest possible clock rate for the Rams goes without saying, but always pay attention to Dual Rank.

And how do you do that? So switch to dual channel and dual rank

Ma

Unscrew the notebook and insert a DualRank Ram Module into each of the two Ram slots.

Dual channel means that both modules / slots are occupied, then the processor can access both in parallel. DualRank modules are electrically 2 ram blocks that are on a board. They can also work in parallel, but they share a bus.
