My Windows 10 notebook (Acer) has not started for 2 days and the error message Critical Process Died keeps appearing. The automatic repair process always starts immediately (blue screen). Unfortunately, I can't really go into anything there. Resetting the PC does not work, nor does any of the advanced options.
Unfortunately, there was no DVD or something similar to boot when you bought it. Does anyone have a hint?
Have you already booted from the Windows installation medium and repaired the advanced options or not?
What do you mean exactly by installation medium?
In the advanced options, I can't run the repair, and then I get an error saying it can't be run
Also, are you able to boot into Safe Mode from the options?
I have nothing to boot. I've never created a file myself and a CD wasn't included. I can't enter Safe Mode. Can't be executed
If you can't repair the Windows installation, you will need to reinstall Windows.
So go to a friend and close the hard drive (if that works with your laptop), then you download all important data and then reinstall Windows on the hard drive.
How about without a CD? No CD was included with the purchase
USB stick?
Unfortunately, no
Then buy one, burn the Windows ISO installation file on it, you have to do that at a friend's house.
Can I connect the notebooks to each other with a USB cable and then drag the ISO file over?
No
So download the ISO file from Microsoft, drag it to the USB stick and then plug it into the "defective" notebook?! Start how? Automatically?
Not quite you have to burn the ISO onto the USB stick with Rufus, for example, then insert the USB stick into the laptop and change the boot order in the BIOS.
Thanks. I'll try tomorrow
