Can I install a second SSD in my laptop?

I would need your support for a moment.

I own the Acer Aspire V3-772G (see link for details).

By default, only a 1 TB HDD was installed. In addition to this, I then installed a 250 GB SSD as a system hard drive in a second free slot.

Now I want to swap the 1TB HDD for a 1TB SSD to spice up the box a bit. Think of the 860 QVO from Samsung. Can someone help me how to find out if that works? I do not really know if the port on which the HDD is now sitting supports this new SSD…

Would be very grateful for help.

If the HDD has a SATA connector, then it is not a problem

Ri

That should usually be a 2.5 '' SATA HDD. If this is true you should use it i.d.R. Easily exchange for any SATA SSD.

So this is the HDD that I want to trade for a Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1 TB:

The has apparently also a SATA connection, if I'm not mistaken. Does it matter whether it's SATA or SATA III?

Ri

Does not matter, SATA is backwards compatible in both directions. Should be eig. Both even be SATA III.
