I bought an Acer a few days ago, but from the start there was no D drive, only C drive. There's also no D drive anywhere, is that normal?
When it was first used, only C was present.
Drive D usually shows the DVD drive. This is now missing from almost all new notebooks.
In fact, it doesn't have one. It is said that the laptop has 512GB of storage and the C drive is 475GB.
It is perfectly normal. The manufacturers run in the thousands system, Windows but with 1024 … See here: https://de.wikipedia.org/...r%C3%A4fix
Isn't anything bad. D: does not have to be a separate drive, to be precise it is also called a volume. If you absolutely need a second or even several more, you can create them in the file carrier management
Yes you are right. The whole storage space is lw. C has been assigned. You can set up a drive D afterwards
To do this, one would have to reduce volume C first.
You're right
That was decided to produce less plastic waste.
All these PC magazines are off the shelf too. There used to be many with DVD. CD.
If there's no DVD drive installed. You can't assign a D or something either.
But what you can do is buy an external UHD drive for a few euro for around 20 euro… With USB 3.0 has 3000 Mbits. Just as fast as the internally installed.
similar to this digital Playstation 5. Everything should run online (as if everyone had 3 gigabits of internet connection like in South Korea)
An external DVD drive has the advantage that it causes less vibration on the laptop and the heat is outside the laptop.
They probably also sell fewer notebooks, and without a familiar DVD drive you are forced to be online. An old one with a drive is more attractive for CD fans.
